Alice Vernon Ortiz

Healdton - Mrs. Alice Vernon (Womack) Ortiz, 81 of Healdton was born on July 19, 1938 in Williams, OK to the late Mr. Lewis Andrew Womack and Mrs. Mildred Alice (Jett) Womack. She departed from this life on Monday, June 29, 2020 at her home in Healdton. Memorial Services will be set at a later date. Cremation services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Alice was raised in Williams, OK attending high school at Cameron, OK. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Education from North Eastern State University and soon after began her teaching career for the BIA School System later retiring from the Unified School District in Barstow, CA. Alice made her home in Healdton in 1992 where she pursued a career in nursing as a LPN. She worked for Nadine Goode for several years before she fully retired. In her younger years, Alice enjoyed playing basketball playing in a all women's league. She also enjoyed cross word puzzles and game shows. But, most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Ron Ortiz; 2 infant sons; sister, Wanda Fultz; brother, James Womack and 2 grandchildren, Nichole and Cory Archer.

Alice is survived by her children, Dianna Rowland and husband Andy of Bethel Island, CA, Lisa Taylor and husband Reece of Lake Wales, FL and Richard Sloan and Kimberley of Zaneis; siblings, Margaret Sue Walters and husband John of Page, AZ, Bobby Joe Womack and wife Judy of Keota, OK and Barbara Candelaria of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren, Kaci Gittemeier and Kaylea Hazen; great grandchildren, Caleb and Raelyn Archer and Kinley Hazen; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
