Andy Russell Dobson

Mr. Andy Russell Dobson, of Wilson, departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 2 days. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson. Cremation services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Dobson was born on July 8, 1946 in Linden, WI to the late Mr. Willard Stevenson Dobson and Mrs. Rachel Delia (Jackson) Dobson.

Andy grew up in Mineral Point, WI and attended school there graduating with the Class of 1964. After graduation he went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad until enlisting in the United States Navy and proudly serving his country in Vietnam. After returning from the war he went back to work for the railroad in the Forest Production Sales Division. He married the love of his life Ms. Helen E. Folger in 1971 and together they made their home in St. Paul, MN for many years until moving to the Ft. Worth area in 1984. In his earlier years Andy enjoyed playing softball and going bowling every Friday night. Watching football was a favorite past time for Andy especially watching the Texas Longhorns and Green Bay Packers. He was a talented wood worker building book shelves, cabinets, and renovating apartment complexes. Mr. Dobson was of the Christian faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen E. (Folger) Dobson; brother, John Dobson; sisters, Wilma Tremmeling and Rosetta Dobson.

Andy is survived by his two sons, David Dobson and his wife Aprel of North Richland Hills, TX; Russell Dobson and his wife Jennifer of Wilson; two granddaughters, Liberty and Phoebe Dobson of North Richland Hills, TX; brothers, Harry Dobson and wife Mary, Dean Dobson and wife Faith, Bill Dobson and wife Susan, Earl Dobson and wife Betty; sisters Dora Rowley, Lois Dobson, Becky Kellen and husband Ron; Many nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends.
