Barbara Jean Simmons

Simon- A private interment was held for Barbara Jean Simmons, 69, of Kingston at Simon Cemetery. Services were under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson. She departed this life on Monday January 4, 2021. Memorial services will be held at a later date.


Barbara was born on March 26, 1951 in Wilson, OK to the late Mr. Alvy Lee Simmons and Mrs. Ima Jewel (Gray) Simmons. She grew up in Orr graduating from Ringling High School in 1969. Barbara loved fishing so much she didn’t mind going alone. When she was young she loved to dance to American Band stand. She was a homemaker and was known for being a homebody. Barbara loved going out to eat and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Erin. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wilson.



Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bobby Joe Simmons.



She is survived by her son, Jerry "Thunder" Wayne Gaines, Jr. and daughter, Alicia Marie Willis both of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Erin Paige of Graham; sisters, Dorthy Tucker and husband Pat of Orr and Patricia Sanders and husband Gary of Wilson; boyfriend, Tom Miller of Kingston; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
