Barbara K Chaney

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara K. Chaney, 77 of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 P.M, Friday, January 13, 2023 at the River of Life Church in Wilson with Rev. Jim Duck officiating.  Interment will follow to Mount Olive Cemetery.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton. 

Barbara was born October 4, 1945 in Ringling, OK to the late Mr. JB Austin and Mrs. Opal Irene (Lyles) Austin.  She departed from this life on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Marlow, OK.  

Barbara was raised in Healdton attending and graduating from Healdton High School.  She married Mr. Raymond D. Chaney in 1984 in Ringling, OK and together they made their home in Healdton.  Barbara has worked for the Lone Grove Schools for about 20 years as a janitor.  She loved her job and made sure all the kids felt loved.  Barbara enjoyed crafts and giving them as Christmas gifts which always had a message about God.  She also enjoyed playing the guitar.  Barbara was baptized and saved at the First Baptist Church in Healdton but most recently, her and Raymond has been attending the River of Life Church in Wilson. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Jack Lyles and a sister, Joann Stokes. 

Barbara is survived by her husband Raymond of the home; sister, Shirley Anderson of Marlow; brother, Rick Austin of Ringling; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Steven Austin, Scot Anderson, Jessica Austin, Ricky Dale Austin, Kason Anderson, and Kreed Anderson.  Honorary bearers will be Markus Anderson, Nick Anderson, and Bobby Chaney. 

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
