Barbara Leona Barnes

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Leona (Gregg) Barnes, 69, of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating and daughter in law Quiqui Barnes providing the eulogy. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Barbara was born May 2, 1945 at Orr to the late Mr. Will Gregg and Mrs. Geneva “Bug” (Abshire) Gregg. She departed this life Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Ardmore.

Barbara was raised in the Orr and Courtney. She married Mr. Jackie Doyle Barnes on March 2, 1963 at Ardmore. They had resided in Ringling since 1963. Barbara worked as a private caregiver for 15 years and as a CNA for Cross Timbers Hospice for 5 years. Her passions in life were her kids, grandchildren and her dogs. She was always a good Mother and faithful friend to all of her children. She was baptized at the Assembly of God Church of Ringling.

Her husband Jackie preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1995. Also preceding her in death is her Parents, Geneva (Abshire) Gregg – 1974 and Will Gregg – 1998; Sister, Martha Coaly – 2001; Twin Bro. and Sister – Jack and Jill at Birth; Nephew, Jimmy Griffin – 1991; Granddaughters, Megan and Kalee Frasier – January 5, 2009 and most recently a daughter, Nikki Barnes Frasier- February 20, 2014.

Survivors include her two sons, Randy Barnes of Ringling and Todd Barnes and wife Quiqui of Healdton; 6 Grandchildren, Jarod Barnes, Randall Barnes, Devan Barnes, Ethan Barnes, Tyler Barnes and Ashley Taylor; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Nieces Donna Thorne and Sheila Coaly and 1 Nephew, Larry Griffin.; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are William Bracken, Tim Barnes, Jimmy Don Sanner, Charlie Cargile, Hank Gregg and Clint Walker.

Honorary Bearers are Delinda Chatham, Jimmy Rex Chatham, Lou Gregg, Billy Wilson and Clarence Abshire.

A special heartfelt thank you to Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore with nurses Tina and Regina and Dr. Francis Oliver of Mercy Hospital for their compassionate care.

Family visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
