Benita Jo Stagner

Funeral Services for Mrs. Benita Jo (Cargile) Stagner, 87, formerly of Duncan are scheduled for 11:00 am Friday July 31, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling.

Mrs. Stagner was born June 11, 1928 at Waurika to the late Mr. Warren Cargile and Mrs. Jeffie (Carroll) Cargile.She departed this life Friday, July 24, 2015 at a nursing home in Ardmore, at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 13 days.

Mrs. Stagner was raised in Ringling attending school at Mountain Home. She met Mr. Marvin Lee Stagner and they soon were united in marriage on March 11, 1944 at Waurika.

Marvin worked in the Oil Patch so they initially resided at several communities. They settled at Loco owning and operating a farm. Mrs. Stagner worked in Duncan at Gibsons and at a western store doing retail sales. She loved her work and was always very meticulous.

She also enjoyed being a homemaker, always doing quilting, sewing and cooking. She loved bible study and Sunday School classes where she attended church at the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Duncan.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Marvin who passed away January 16, 1993 and her father, Mr. Warren Cargile; mother, Jeffie (Carroll) Pate; 2 infant sisters; sister, Shirley Carroll and 2 daughters, Brenda Joyce and Debra Jo.

Survivors include her sons, Scotty Marvin Stagner and wife Barbara of Tempe, AZ and Mack Warren Stagner of Duncan; daughter, Sandra Lee of Duncan; sisters, Patsy Nell and Gladys Lou; brother, Charlie Cargile; brother in law, Gilbert Stagner and wife Lois; sister in law, Martha Stagner; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and other family.

Casket bearers are Scott Stagner, Leo Stagner, Guy Stagner, Kevin Stagner, John Smiley and Darren Waterbury.

Honorary bearers are Charlie Cargile, Ernie Marshall, Don Miller, Mack W. Stagner and Gilbert Stagner.

A very special thank you to Terry Downey at Whispering Oaks Nursing Home of Ardmore for her kindfelt care and support of her aunt Benita Jo during her stay.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
