Betty June Flynn

Wilson - Graveside ceremony rites for Mrs. Betty June (Rice) Flynn, 80, of Wilson are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery with Rev. Mark Fuller officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Betty was born on Sept. 9, 1941 at Wilson to the late Mr. George Carney Rice and Mrs. Ruth Estell (Dethloff) Rice. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at the hospital in Ardmore.

Betty was raised in Wilson attending school here. She married Charles "Chock" Franklin Flynn on February 2, 1957 at Sulphur. They made their home in Wilson raising their three children. Betty was a homemaker and worked at the Wilson Nutrition Center at its initialization, and thereafter at the Healdton Golf Course for several years. Betty liked to ride around and always be on the go. She enjoyed doing her family genealogy and visiting her family's graves at cemeteries.

Preceding her in death are her parents; infant daughter, 1962; husband, Chock, Dec. 3, 2013 and daughter in law, Annalee Flynn.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Ivey and husband John of Haworth and Donna Gazaway and husband Mark of Wilson; son, Bobby Flynn of Wilson; grandchildren, Melissa Richard and husband Johnny, Connie Plunk, Houston Gazaway, James Flynn, John Flynn and spouse Anita Henley; great grandchildren, Jacee Gazaway, Stormie Richard, Amiya and Nevaeh Plunk, Dylan Plunk, Charlie and Leanna Flynn and Jorja Henley; great great grandchild Aubree Richard; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Daniel Brundage, Jeremy Brundage, James Flynn, John Flynn, Johnny Richard, Houston Gazaway and Arlo Kimes.

Honorary bearer is Ray Howard.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
