Betty Louise Meloy

Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Louise (Hilton) Meloy, 79, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Lone Grove Assembly of God Church with grandson, Rev. Joshua Gunter and Rev. Gary Dotson officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson with Rev. Gary Gunsolus officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Betty was born Jan. 14, 1938 at Vanoss, OK to the late Mr. William Brian Hilton and Mrs. Iva Elizabeth (Meeks) Hilton. She departed this life Monday evening October 23, 2017 at Mercy Hospital of Healdton.

Betty was the 2nd of 11 children being raised in Bowlegs, OK. There she met Mr. Harley Meloy and they were united in marriage on June 3, 1955 at Bowlegs. Harley was employed in the oilfield most of his years, thus relocating them to several communities following work. They resided at Cushing, Seminole and Taft, CA before settling in in Wilson in 1969.

To this union 10 children were born, with one son passing as an infant named Tommy Wayne Meloy. Betty was a gifted homemaker and housewife. She was an excellent cook, providing for her family and always having plenty to eat. She enjoyed reading and enjoyed gardening and canning. Her family always came first and she loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always attended church at the Assemblies of God Churches and has been a member of the Lone Grove Assembly of God Church since the early 90's. Her husband Harley preceded her in death on August 28, 2011. Also preceding her, parents; sisters, Norma, Helen, Joann and Billie and two brothers, Ray and Robert.

Survivors include her beloved children, Cathy Lee of Lone Grove, Carolyn Gunter and husband James of Aurora, MO, Mickey Meloy and wife Melanie, Johnny Meloy and wife Joanna, both of Wilson, Sherry Cargal of Ardmore, Janice Bond, Tammy Vandeventer and husband Alan, both of Wilson, Jerry Meloy of Ardmore and Barbara Ross and husband Tom of Holdenville; brothers, Mike Hilton and wife Angel of Seminole and Tommy Hilton and wife Juliet of Colbert; sisters, Linda Pierce and husband Salty of Maud and Darlene Selfridge of Bentonville, AR; special brother in law and sister in law, Curtis and Cherry Meloy of Hennessey; 15 grandchildren, Brian Meloy, Jeff Lee and wife Shelly, Shiloh Roberts and husband Jadie, Steve Lee and wife Sara, Beckie Spradling and husband Tommy, Danny Lee, Jennifer Williamson and husband Bryan, Kristen Cargal, Caleb Gunter, Joshua Gunter and wife Ashlyn, Ryan Cargal, Brian Bond, Kelsey Ross, Russell Vandeventer and Tanner Ross; 16 great grandchildren, Karli, Jaxon, Braxton, Landri, Owen, Evan, Nolan, Emery and Graci Lee, Jase and Harlee Williamson, Brileigh Meloy, Kenslie Spradling, Bolton and Joah Roberts and Adelyn Gunter; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Jeff Lee, Steve Lee, Danny Lee, Brian Meloy, Ryan Cargal, Russell Vandeventer and Tanner Ross.

Honorary Bearers are Caleb Gunter and Brian Bond.

Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Wed. evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
