Wilson – Home Going services for Mrs. Betty Sue (Hurley) Bartlett, 96, of Wilson are schedule for 11:00 AM, Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 at the Wilson Assembly God Church with Bro. John Harris officiating and Bro. Jim McGaughy assisting. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery at Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.


Sister Bartlett was born on April 17, 1927 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Luther Earnest Hurley and Mrs. Vivian Emoline (Wendling) Hurley. She went to her heavenly home on Wednesday Evening Nov. 8, 2023 at her home in Wilson.


Sister Bartlett was raised in Wilson attending school here. Her family owned and operated Hurley Dry Cleaners on Main Street. She graduated high school as valedictorian and soon after went to San Diego and worked in a mental hospital joining the War efforts off WWII. After the War concluded she returned home and married Mr. Joe Earl Bartlett on May 24, 1946 at Gainesville, TX.


They served within Christian Ministry for 74 years, mostly representing the Assembly of God Church. Sister Bartlett served as pastor of the Provence Assembly of God Church for three years and dedicated her life to several mission trips overseas. At the age of 65, Sister Bartlett returned to school attending nursing classes at Vo Tech where she earned her LPN certification and again was awarded valedictorian of her class. Betty was always giving her time for the Kingdom of God.


Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Joe of 76 years; daughters, Annita “Pebbles” Bartlett-Jackson and Jeannette Stewart; sons, Dale Lee Bartlett and Joe Lynn Bartlett; son in law, Robert Stewart; grandchildren, Cherie Bala, Brent Stewart, Cody Snodgrass and Jody Coley; sisters, Bobbye Bracken and Joyce Hurley; brother, LeRoy Hurley and nephew, Ronnie Reece.


Survivors include her daughter, Donna Snodgrass and husband Jimmy of Ringling; daughter in law, Linda Bartlett of Mooreville, MS; son in law, Greg Jackson of Healdton; sister, Bonnie Baker of Ft. Worth, TX; brother in law, Alford Bracken of Goshen, TX; grandchildren, Billy Bartlett and wife Kerry, Jimmy Darrell Snodgrass, Amanda Stewart, Ashley Klutts and husband Chad, Larissa Naim and husband Danial, Erika Martin and husband Brandon; great grandchildren, Devon, Dylan and Diesel Bartlett, Dakota and Creede Snodgrass, Reagan and Addison Jo Klutts, Brent and Weston Naim, Brenna Martin, Jackson and Zeplyn Martin;  special niece, Cathy Bracken and by a host of other family and friends.



Pallbearers will be Jimmy Darrel Snodgrass, Dakota Snodgrass, Creede Snodgrass, Billy Bartlett, Chad Klutts, Danial Naim, and Brandon Martin. Honorary bearers will be Diesel Bartlett, Brent Naim, Weston Naim, Zeplyn Martin, Dylan Bartlett, Devon Bartlett, and Jackson Martin.



Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 2-4 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.



Donations can be made to the Youth Group of the Wilson Assembly of God Church; 828 State Highway 70A, Wilson, OK 73463.
