Cecil Berry, Jr

November 8, 1948 — March 1, 2023

Memorial Services for Cecil Berry, Jr, 74, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Steve Skinner officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory.

Cecil was born November 8, 1948, in Ardmore to the late Mr. Cecil Berry, Sr. and Mrs. Evelyn Bicy McCurtain. He departed this life Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Ardmore.

Jr was raised in Ardmore where he attended Carter Seminary School and moved to California as a young man where he attended Tech School for Auto Body Repair. Jr moved back to Ardmore and worked for Northside Salvage before opening his own shop, Berry’s Foreign Car Parts of Ardmore which he owned and operated for numerous years. Jr married the former Alice Gertrude Embry on July 1, 1983 and they shared many years together residing in Ardmore. She preceded him in death in October of 2007. They had worked side by side together at the salvage yard. Jr loved his cars and motorcycles. Even though he was blind for the past 50 years due to a motorcycle accident, he remained a very visual storyteller and never let it hold him back. One of the most remarkable things he done was raising his 5-year-old granddaughter as his own all by himself. Jr. was a proud native American belonging to the Chickasaw Tribe.

In addition to his wife, Jr is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Phyllis Berry.

Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Roberts and husband Robin of Oklahoma City and Shilynn Cryer-Berry of Ardmore; sons, Paul Berry of Ardmore, Michael Berry of Dickson, Tommy Berry of Ardmore, and Erin Berry and wife Kristin of Madill; sisters, Delores Gail Cordova of Ardmore, Nina Molina and husband Pedro of Ardmore, and Hazel Berry of Ardmore; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; numerous other family and a host of friends.

Honorary bearers are Mitchell Ingram, Jesse Molina, David Stidham, Kenneth “KB” Brown, Scott Davis, and Chance Berry.
