Cecil Lee Nuckels

Wilson - Cecil Lee Nuckels of Lone Grove departed this life on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 15, 2022 at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Pastor Donnie Collins officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Nuckels was born on March 10, 1935 in Bryan, Texas to the late Mr. Admiral Fletcher Nuckels and Mrs. Parthenia Viola (Reed) Nuckels. He was the oldest of six children.

Cecil was raised in Texas before his family moved to California. He attended Reedley High School in Reedley California and graduated from there. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country for 9 years. While in the Air Force he married the love of his life Ms. Wanda Jean (Robertson) Nuckels on May 5, 1956 in Sultana, CA and together made their home California for the majority of their lives before moving to this area in 2002. Cecil enjoyed farming. He attended Crossroads Church in Lone Grove.

Mr. Nuckels is preceded in death by his parents; and wife Wanda Jean (Robertson) Nuckels in 2012; son Justin Nuckels in 2021; brothers, Phillip, Harlen, and Robert Nuckels; and a grandson, Jason Andrew Johnson in 1985.

He survived by his son, James Avery Nuckels of Lone Grove; daughter, Jeanie Nuckels of California; sisters, Dorotha Ellis of Tulsa, and Barbara Nuckels of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Bryan, and Ashley; and 0ne great grandchild.
