Wilson ~ Funeral Services for Mr. Charles “Charlie” Robert Dutton, 79, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Wilson with Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating and Rev. Randy Southerland assisting. Interment will follow at Elmore City Cemetery in Elmore City, OK. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Robert Dutton was born October 13, 1934 at Blackwell, OK. to the late Mr. Ferguson “Ted” Roosevelt Dutton and Mrs. Alice Vaughncille (Harrison) Dutton. He passed from this life Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Oklahoma City, OK.

Charlie was raised in Blackwell and Elmore City. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp serving honorably during the Korean Conflict. Charlie married the former Ms. Wilda L. Nesmith on November 28, 1957 at Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Wilson in 1968. He worked for Carter Oil Co. in Dillard and Cox City which later became Exxon. Charlie retired as a field foreman in 1986. He enjoyed his retirement gardening, fishing, doing carpentry work and attending flea markets.

Charlie was preceded in death by his Wife, Wilda Dutton on May 8, 1992. He is also preceded in death by his Parents, Ferguson and Alice Dutton and Brother, Chancy Dutton.

He is survived by his Daughter, Becky Shores and husband, Mike of Springer, OK.; Two Sons, Rodney Dutton and Shawn Dutton both of Wilson OK.; Grandchildren, Morgan Pruitt and husband, Barkley of Springer, Dr. Coty Shores and wife, Chelsea of Duncan and Charlie Shores of Springer; Sister, Nellie Travis and husband Floyd “Red” of Elmore City,OK.; Great Grandchildren, Cason Shores and Reagan Pruitt; Numerous Nieces Nephews and other Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Dr. Coty Shores, Barkley Pruitt, Jack Shores, Tyler Shores, Charles Lynch and Wayland Alexander.

Honorary Bearers are Al Owens, Sterling Eggleston, Dave Shores, Paul Faught, David Shores and Floyd Travis.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
