Charles Lee Shepard

Wilson - Memorial Services for Mr. Charles Lee Shepard, 78, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 pm October 16, 2020 at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating.

Charles was born Feb. 18, 1942 at Rock Island to Mr. Raymond Halton Shepard and Mrs. Gladys (Martin) Shepard Hayes . He departed this life Friday , October 9, 2020 at Ardmore.

Charles was raised primarily at the Poteau and Panama area beginning work at the age of 15 years old. He traveled extensively constructing tanks across the United States, as part of the Boilermakers Union Local # 92. He and the former Cathy Ann Lane-Adams were united in marriage on March 16, 1963 at Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in California until moving to Wilson in 1979. Here Charles worked in the oilfield mostly for Bullard's Oilfield Service and Sutherland Well Service. In his spare time he loved to go fishing and ride Harley Davidson motorcycles.

He is preceded in death by his father, brother, Rick; sisters , Sheila and Carmel and a grandson David Brent Shepard.

Survivors include his wife Cathy of the home; sons, Donald Shepard and wife Margie, David Wayne Shepard, and Steve Shepard and wife Lynn all of Wilson; mother, Gladys Hayes of Poteau; siblings, Joe Shepard, Paulette Murray, Ray Shepard, Jesse James "Jim" Hayes, Wesley Hayes, Nub Hayes, Janis Hayes and Jerry Hayes; grandchildren, Randy, Levi, Steven, Taylor, Brittany and Malorie; five great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
