Charles Windfred Butler

June 3, 1940 — April 5, 2012

Milo- Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Winfred Butler, 71, of Graham, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday April 9, 2012 at the Milo Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Milo Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.


Charles was born June 3, 1940 at Milo, OK to the late W.R. Butler and Racheal Lucille (Mauldin) Butler. He departed this life Thursday April 5, 2012 at Oklahoma City.


Charles was raised at several communities with his family following WPA work projects and share cropping. He graduated high school from Hydro and later joined the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served in the Philippines obtaining Staff Sergeant status, carrying out administrative orders to the soldiers under his command. He served a total of 7 years 11 months and 28 days honorably and received several commendations and medals including the outstanding unit award and the longevity service award.


He was married to Ester Thomas and to this union 2 children were born, Monty Keith and Scott. She preceded him in death in 1978. He then would later marry the former Rita Fourier on August 31, 1979 at Hammon, OK. They shared 32 wonderful years together with their families.


Charles and Rita both retired from 3M Company in Weatherford and also enjoyed Custom Hay Baling as well as Farming and Ranching. Charles loved music, especially bluegrass, and always had encouraging words and enjoyed telling stories. He was a member of the Milo Baptist Church.


Also preceding him in death are his Parents, 2 Brothers, Bob and Bill; 1 Grandson, Cody Patrick Butler and Brother in law, Bill Murray.


Survivors include his Wife Rita of the home; Children, Monty Butler of LaHoma, OK, Scott Butler of Vanoss, OK, Debbie Waldrop and husband Mike of Weatherford, OK, Bert Fourier of Elmore City, Rebecca Fourier of Eaton, CO and Pattie Goodall of Weatherford, OK; Sisters, Lou Murray of Hydro, OK, AND Sharon Harris and husband Harry of Clemscott; Brothers, Don Butler and wife Linda of Edmond, Kenneth Butler and wife Sue of Salisaw, Larry Butler and wife Carolyn of Sapulpa, and Wayne Butler and wife Ruth of Hydro, OK; 15 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren with 1 other on the way; numerous other family, church family and friends.


Pallbearers are Brandon Ogle, Carl Fourier, Ben Gubitz, Deritt Kerner, Casey Butler and Chris Aid.


Honorary Bearers are the Milo Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.


In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to be made to the Milo Baptist Church/ for the Baptist Girls Home of Madill/ P.O. Box G, Ratliff City, OK 73481
