Ardmore - Funeral Services for Mr. Claudie Ray Henry, 84 of Ardmore are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Southwest Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Claudie was born October 16, 1934 in Edgemont, AR to the late Mr. Claude Brooks Henry and Mrs. Edith Martha (Newnum) Henry. He departed from this life on Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home.
Claudie spent his childhood in Arkansas moving to Arizona for 6 years, then moving to California working for Palo Verde Irrigation Dist. working his way up to a crane operator for 8 years. He later went to work for Kaiser Steel Corporation for 7 years. Claudie then moved back to Ardmore working for Wonder Bread as a Mechanic and retired after 18 years of service. He and Peggy Tynes married on October 29, 1992 in Gainesville, TX Claudie was an avid fisherman, loved playing guitar and music, enjoyed camping, traveling and cooking out on the grill. He was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nettie Smith and by his brother, Bill Henry.
Claudie is survived by his loving wife, Peggy of the home, sons, Virgil Henry of Alabama and Claude E. Henry and wife Alisha of Ardmore; daughters, Maurine Ulander, Sandra Kelly both of Alabama, Sharla Brown and husband John of Edmond; step son, Steven Marshall and wife Elena of Dallas; step daughters, Tammy Long and husband Gabriel of Choctaw, Susan Conway and husband Danny of Lone Grove and Patricia Swanzy and husband Monte of Dallas; brothers, Tom Henry and wife Anita of Tecumseh, Bob Henry and wife Romona of Paoli and Will Henry and wife Aretha of Pauls Valley; sisters, Juanita Duncan and husband Dennis of Ardmore and Naomi Anderson of Temple, TX; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jim Michael, Don Stewart, Dewayne Perrymen, John Brown, Robert Shlemon, Claude E. Henry.
A family visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
