Cynthia "Cindy" Shackelford

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (McKinnon) Shackelford, age 66, of Kingston, passed away in Ada, on April 4, 2019. Memorial services will announced at a later date. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander-Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Cindy was born on April 12, 1952 to the late Mr. Taylor Richard Mckinnon and Mrs. Nora Bell (Copeland) Mckinnon in Wilson.

Mrs. Shackelford grew up in Wilson and attended school there. She graduated from Wilson High School. Cindy was a loving mother and took pride in her two sons Scotty Wayne Gaither and Don Ray Smith. She had devoted many years caring for her son Scotty until his passing on Sept 15, 2009. She was of the Baptist faith. Cindy had previously been living in Tennessee until recently moving back to Kingston.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father Taylor R. McKinnon; son Scotty Wayne Gaither; brothers, Richard Wayne, Jimmy Dale, and Tony Lynn McKinnon.

She is survived by her son, Don Ray Smith and his wife Paule’ of Kingston; mother, Nora McKinnon of Wilson; sisters, Donna Cochran of Kingston, Pam Taylor and husband Gerald of Ringling; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
