Daniel Eugene Whitener

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. Daniel "Boone" Eugene Whitener, 46, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Wilson with Rev. Mark Fuller and David Newby officiating. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson near his home. Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson are under the care and direction of services.

Daniel was born on July 9, 1975 at Healdton to Mr. Alfred Eugene "Gary" Whitener and Mrs. Carla Denise (Cantrell) Whitener. He departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Oklahoma City.

Daniel was raised in Wilson attending school here. During his high school years he attended Vo- Tech studying Auto Body. He graduated as a member of Wilson High School Class of 1994. Daniel attended college at the North Texas University in Denton, TX receiving a degree in Animal, Poultry and Equine Science. Upon graduation, Daniel became employed for Dr. Gores, "Gores Angus Farms", south of Ardmore, where he worked for 12 years, taking care of all the day to day chores of the ranch. He married the former Norma Jean Rogers on July 11, 1994 at Ardmore. He and Norma have been blessed with three wonderful daughters, who Daniel adored. Daniel left Gores Farms in 2006 and began operating his own business in Wilson called Whiteners Auto Sales, where he helped many people throughout the community. Daniel also continued to farm and ranch with his father, Gary always enjoying raising cattle. Daniel always lended a hand to help anyone in need. He started a car show and toy drive in Wilson in 2018 to help provide for needy children during Christmas and was anxious to get started this year again. Daniel loved to always stay busy and was a very hard worker who loved his family. Family was always first. Daniel was raised attending church at Rexroat Baptist Church and always had a relationship with the Lord.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Curly and Wanda Whitener, Bob Cantrell and Sue Cantrell; father in law, Lupe Rogers; Aunt, Diane Smith; great grandparents, E.C. and Callie Cantwell; Dan and Estell Emerson and his childhood best friend, Randy Tucker.

Survivors include his wife Norma of the home; daughters, Danielle, Selina and Trendon and Iliana "Turd head" Whitener, all of Wilson; his parents, Gary and Carla Whitener of Wilson; grandchildren, Ravyn Smith, Camdyn Smith and Kinley Welch; sister, Jennifer Whitener of Wilson; sister in law, Jacqueline Boring and husband Ray and their children; best friend who was like his brother, Michael Skelton; family friend, Randy Brey of Wilson; aunt, Pam Forsythe; and various other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Colt Battles, Rudy Ramon, Blake Willis, Joe Mac Roberts, Ray Boring and Brandon Smith.

Honorary bearers are Trendon Smith, Ethan Welch, Jon Gores, Buck Welch, Quinton Nipp, James Blakley, Davis Ray Skelton, Jason Forsythe, Jeremiah Forsythe, Daylene Jordan, Johnny Rogers, Enjuns of Texoma Car Club and classmates of WHS 1994.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Enjuns Texoma Car Club for the annual Christmas Toy Drive that he was so passionately involved with. 823 Arco Road, Healdton, OK 73438.
