Danny Leon Simon

Healdton -Danny Leon Simon, Sr. of Healdton departed this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 74 years and 30 days. Funeral services with military honors will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Healdton with Rev. Mike Johnston, Matthew Simon and Billy Simon officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling, OK. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.

Danny was born to the late Mr. Leon Franklin Simon and Mrs. Bivian Jerliene (Ragsdale) Simon on August 9, 1947 in Shawnee, OK.

He was raised in Borger, TX until moving to Healdton during his high school years. He graduated with the Healdton High School Class of 1965. Mr. Simon voluntarily enlisted in the United States Army National Guard in 1967 and proudly served his country for two years. Danny and the former Ms. Ruby (Capeheart) Simon were united in Marriage on May 17, 1968 in Wichita Falls, TX. Danny worked in the oilfield supply business most of his working years, lastly being employed with B&C Backhoe Service. His favorite past time was fishing and hunting. Danny enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and most especially his wife. He loved his best friends Joe Mitchell and Dale Shaw and was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.

Mr. Simon is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dustyne Shayne Simon in 2008.

He is survived by his wife Ruby Carlene (Capehart) Simon of the home; daughter, Sandra Spellman and husband Donn of Healdton; sons, Mike Simon and wife Katherine of Healdton, Danny "Chop" Leon Simon, Jr. and wife Mindy of Lexington; brothers, Billy Simon and wife Lilia of Durant, Guy Simon and wife Janie of Healdton, Mike Simon and wife Connie of Little City; grandchildren, Phillip, Matthew, Jesse, Donn Robert, and Bella; 9 great grandchildren; numerous other family and countless friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Schoonover, Sean Chatham, Matthew Simon, Jason Chatham, Phillip Snooks, Donn Robert Spellman, and Terry Justus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Hickman, Donn Spellman, Dale Shaw, Joe Mitchell, Edgar Hernandez, Scott Walker, Kevin Massucci, and Bella Spellman.

Visitation will be held 4 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
