Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Dave was born October 10, 1942, at Frederick, OK to the late Mr. George Wesley Cormany and Mrs. Nanny Lorene (Slawson) Cormany. He went to his heavenly home on Wednesday evening, August 30, 2023, at Oklahoma City.

Dave was raised at Healdton attending school at Rexroat, graduating High School with the class of 1960. In December of that year, he joined the United States Army, where he served as a Military Policeman in Japan for three years. Dave was honorably discharged in October of 1963, returning to this area where he soon found the love of his life, the former Ms. Cindy Bass while dragging Main in Healdton, circling the Dairy Queen. They were married, on Dave’s birthday, October 10, 1964, at Cindy’s mother’s home in Graham, with James Vanoy presiding. Dave and Cindy resided in Oklahoma City for a short time and then made their home back in Wilson. Dave was primarily always self-employed but had many occupations such as, raising birds, cattle, farming, “Dave’s Auto Repair”, and most recently, he worked as a parts deliveryman. He proudly served on the Wilson School board for 15 years. Dave had a larger-than-life personality. He loved to visit, and he loved to laugh, a laugh that was recognizable and contagious. Dave’s personality was loud, but he also showed a gentle kindness that put others at ease. He was a hardworking man, always willing to help others. Dave enjoyed his cattle, riding through the pasture on his four-wheeler to tend to the herd, which often included building fences and hauling hay. He had an unmistakable cow call that will not be forgotten by his family. Being a huge OU football fan, he enjoyed watching the Sooners play whenever possible. Dave loved studying his Bible, reading and discussing the Word of God to share his passion with others. He loved his family, being a devoted husband as well as the best dad and papa. The family feels fortunate to have been blessed with a mentor such as Dave, whose memory they will forever cherish. Dave was a member of the East Lincoln Church of Christ at Healdton.
