David Lee Norton

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mr. David Lee Norton, 71, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Rexroat Baptist Church of Wilson, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Roebuck officiating and Rev. Monte Dean assisting. Interment will follow at the Keller Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, Oklahoma.

David Lee Norton was born November 24, 1942 at Minco, Oklahoma to Mr. Dalphus Lee Norton and Mrs. Pansy Zenia Lawania (Hacker) Norton. He passed from this life Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

David was raised in Lone Grove, Oklahoma attending school there and graduating from Lone Grove High School in 1960. He attended college at Murray State College where he was in ROTC. David married Kay Emerson December 14, 1963 at the Rexroat Baptist Church. They resided in Lone Grove on Texaco Road for 31 years later moving to Wilson. David worked at Michelin Tire Company in Quality Control for 31 years retiring in 2001. He was a Deacon at Rexroat Baptist Church for many years and was always very involved in his church. David was also a very talented carpenter building customized cabinets and their family homes. He enjoyed gold panning and spending time with his family.

David is preceded in death by his Parents, Dalphus and Pansy Norton; Infant Sister, Nelda Joan Norton who preceded him on December 22, 1941.

He is survived by his Wife, Kay Norton of the home; Five Children, Shelly Christian and husband, Cliff of Fox, OK., Kelly Brawley and husband, Mike of Lone Grove, OK., Becky Glenn and husband, Tim of Healdton, Ok. Chris Norton of Wilson, OK. and Ginny Kaye Dollar and husband Michael of Wilson, OK.; Sisters, Brenda Norton of Lone Grove, OK. and Lawania Denim and husband, Randy of Lone Grove, OK.; Brothers, Gerald Norton of Ardmore, OK., Larry Norton of Ardmore, OK., Raymond Norton and wife, Betty of Lone Grove, OK. and Louis Norton and wife Cindy of Jonesville, VA. 12 Grandchildren, Dustin and Daria of Ardmore, OK., Lori and Ash of Ada, OK., Mark and Chelsey of Healdton,OK., Levi and Ashley of Wilson, OK., Curtis and Petra of Yoakem, TX., Josh and Macey of Ringling,OK., Whitney, Katie, Sommer, Matthew, Rachel and Aaron; 7 Great Grandchildren, Skylar, Haven, Gracie, Aleeya, Keller, Lane, Abby and 1 more on the way;3 Step Grandchildren,Brittany, Darla and Chris; 7 Step Great Grandchildren, Camden,Madison,Alysa,Hunter,Domenic,Kinley and Anden; Numerous Nieces, Nephews and other Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Larry Gunter, Brian Hunziker, Jack Brown, Kevin Bone, Bennie Cartwright and Gary Garrett.

Honorary Bearers are Roy Hunziker, Randy Denim, Jerry Pletcher, Bobby Price, Dennis Baker, Gary whitener and Loren Hacker.

Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Rexroat Baptist Church of Wilson, OK.
