Mr. David Lee Westbrook, of Countyline, departed this life on September 28, 2021 at his residence at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 2 days. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Ratliff City Cemetery in Ratliff City, OK with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
David was born to the late Mr. Oscar Benjamin Westbrook and Mrs. Rena Mae (Gardner) Westbrook Alford on January 26, 1930 in Clebit, OK.
He grew up in Southeastern Oklahoma and graduated from Hugo High School. He then joined the Oklahoma National Guard from 1947 to 1948 then enlisted in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. After serving in the military he married Evelyn Marie Bashaw. He went to work in the oilfields moving from Oklahoma to New Mexico and Texas. They moved back to the Countyline area in late 1960's where they would raise their two sons. David worked for Welltec as a rig operator. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening or tinkering around his place.
Mr. Westbrook is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, O.B., Don, Bob, and Jr.; sisters, Janell and Patsy.
David is survived by two sons, Donald Westbrook and his wife JoAnn of Healdton and Ronald Westbrook of Purcell; grandchildren, Kira, Joshua, Trista, Lindsay, and Casey; 10 great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host friends.
