Deloris Jean Taliaferro

Lone Grove – Private Family Graveside Services for Mrs. Deloris Jean (Blassingame) Taliaferro, 93 were held Monday evening at the Family Taliaferro Rest Cemetery in Lone Grove with Rev. Bill Black officiating. Services were under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Deloris was born September 7, 1930 in DeLeon, TX to the late Mr. Tom Ross Blassingame and Mrs. Doris Louise Miller. She departed from this life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Ardmore, OK.

Deloris was raised at Reck graduating from Zaneis in 1948. She then attended Southeastern College where she obtained her teaching degree. Deloris married Mr. Fred Richard Taliaferro on April 10, 1948 at Gainesville, TX and shared 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. She had taught school at Plainview and Lincoln Schools before she followed her true passion which was owning and operating The Bee Hive, a custom framing and gift shop for 30 years. Deloris enjoyed painting, gardening, cooking and she loved to read and travel.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Fred on August 2, 2011.

Deloris is survived by her daughter, Joan Taliaferro; sons, Errol Taliaferro and wife Charlotte, Steve Taliaferro, and Jimmy Taliaferro and wife Wilda all of Lone Grove; sister, Carol Allen and husband Al; 9 grandchildren, Ty, Eric, Leah, Tessa, Cody, Rachel, Tara, Adam, and Natalie; 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and by a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the Cross Timbers Hospice, Ashley and Sonja of Cross Timbers; and all the employees of the Village Lodge of Ardmore.
