Donald "Donnie" Lee Weatherford

Dixie - Graveside services for Mr. Donald "Donnie" Lee Weatherford, 63 of Hobbs, NM, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Dixie Cemetery with Les Weatherford officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Donnie was born August 20, 1955 in Ringling, OK to the late Mr. Calvin Hubert Weatherford and Mrs. Vernelle (Waller) Weatherford. He departed from this life on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Lubbock, TX.

Donnie graduated from Wilson High School in 1974. Soon after he began working alongside his father in the oilfield. Most recently he was a superintendent managing 7 crews laying pipeline. The most important events in Donnie's life were the birth of his children and grandchildren. Donnie cherished spending time with all of his family and friends. He enjoyed car racing, horse racing and loved going to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally every year.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers, Hollis Weatherford and Herbert Weatherford.

Donnie is survived by his sons, Michael Weatherford and wife Laurel of Temperance, MI and Jeffery Weatherford and wife Patricia of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Juleen Egan of New Jersey; sister, Reta Ann Geer and husband Carl of The Colony, TX; brother, Harold Gahagan and wife Sue of Dallas; grandchildren, Joel, Elliot, Audrey, Jonathan and Perry Weatherford; and by a host of other family and friends.

Honorary bearers will be Les Weatherford, Jimmy Waller, Jim Toohey, Shane Toohey, Ben Geer, Travis Nelson and Gary Mashore.
