Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Wells) Dewitt, 88, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Dorothy was born August 7, 1926 to the late Mr. Eugene Mason Wells, Sr. and Mrs. Ora Mae (Hacker) Wells. She departed this life Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Ardmore.

Dorothy was raised in this area residing at Dillard. She attended school at Wilson graduating high school from here. She married Mr. Harlen Franklin Dewitt on Jan. 11, 1943. She was a very devoted and caring homemaker and mother who enjoyed crocheting for her family and also enjoyed spending time with them camping. Dorothy liked to garden and plant flowers and was always ready to get out and visit. Her husband Harlen preceded her in death on June 17, 1984. Since, Dorothy has been always outgoing and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Also preceding her in death is her parents; son, Ronald Dewitt and his wife Sharon and a brother, Eugene Mason Wells, Jr. and his wife Melva Jane.

Survivors include daughter, Darlene Clubb and husband Eddie of Wilson; Sons, Frankie Dewitt and wife Marilyn of Wilson and Raymond Dewitt and wife Leslie of Mannsville; 8 grandchildren, Tatia, Kimberly, Bradley, Jonathan, Kristy, Colton, Casey and Brylie; 7 great grandchildren, Breyona, Sydney, Kelby, Cooper, Levi, Roni and Jaceton; 1 great geat granddaughter, Kadence; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Glynn Johnson, Glen Hurst , Danny Jackson, Johnny Sullivan, Dennis Vernon, and Charlie Steele.

Honorary bearers are grandchildren, great grandchildren, Johnny Hartman and all the attendees of the Wilson Senior Citizens Center.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
