Eddie Dean Dunn, Sr.

Velma- An open family visitation for Eddie Dean Dunn, Sr., 69, of Velma, is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Velma from 2 – 4 PM. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Crematory of Ringling.


Eddie was born November 1, 1953, in San Antonio, TX to the late Mr. Edward Dunn and Mrs. Virginia Stockton Dunn. He departed this life Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Velma.


Eddie’s father served in the military, living in Germany for some of his childhood and later residing in Wichita Falls, TX. He married the former Miss Lois Ward, making their home in Waurika where they raised their two sons, Eddie Jr., and Patrick. While there, Eddie was employed by Metal Span until the passing of his wife on October 3, 1997. He later relocated to Laporte, Indiana where he married Dawn and worked as a Document Shredder for multiple banks. After Dawn’s passing, Eddie moved to Velma to be with his family. Eddie loved spending time with his boys as they grew up, fishing and tinkering with all kinds of things. He was a hard worker and quite the handyman, never afraid of trying new things. Eddie had a heart for helping others, he volunteered often for the food bank and loved his church family as he was a member of the Velma Baptist Church. He was very crafty and owned a DVD Collection that covered every movie available to date.


Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward and Virginia; wife and mother of his boys, Lois; wife, Dawn; sister, Sandy White and brother, Randy Dunn.


Survivors include sons, Eddie Dean Dunn Jr., and wife Amy of Velma and Patrick Dunn and wife Paula of San Diego, California; brother, Ricky Dunn of Katy, TX; Aunt, Jimmie Beavers of Lake Arrowhead, TX; grandchildren, Abby, Bailey, Jacob, Alexis, and Caleb; Stepdaughter, Brittnie Galloway of Chattanooga, TN; numerous other family and a host of friends.


In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Velma Baptist Youth Falls Creek Fund. Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 249 Velma, OK 73491, please include Falls Creek fund on the memo.
