Edith Belinda Tow Pittman

January 15, 1923 — March 22, 2013

Ratliff City – Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith “Granny” Tow Pittman, 90, of Ratliff City are scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church of Ratliff City with Rev. Derek Bolin officiating and Mark Belvin providing the Eulogy and assisted by Rev. Ricky Williams. Interment will follow at the Marlow Cemetery with Rocky Keck providing the committal message. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Edith “Granny” Tow Pittman was born January 15, 1923 at Foster, OK to the late Mr. Ervin Ruth and Mrs. Nancy Theo (Welch) Ruth. She went to be with the Lord Friday March 22, 2013 surrounded by her family at Healdton, OK.

Granny was raised at Doyle attending school at Burrus High School. She married Mr. Elmer B. Tow in 1941 and to this union came seven children. She later married Mr. Waylan F. Pittman on February 16, 1962 and to this union she gained two sons. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. She was a resident of Ratliff City since 1967 and was employed as cafeteria worker at Doyle Public Schools and lastly at the Fox Public School Cafeteria. She retired from Fox on May 1, 1986 after 19 years of service there. During her pastimes, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and working puzzles and always enjoyed her goats and chickens.

In addition to her husband, also preceding her in death is her Parents, Mr. Ervin and Mrs. Nancy Ruth; Sisters, Gladys Smallwood and Odie Robey; 2 Brothers, Ernest Ruth and Cleo Ruth; Son, Kenny Tow who passed away on March 7, 1981; and a great grandson, Christopher Boyd Knipe.

Survivors include Sons, James Tow and wife Rocille and Wayne Pittman, both of Ratliff City and Ray Pittman and wife Beth of Houston; Daughters, Nancy Belvin and husband Charles of Healdton, Dorotha Smith and husband Gary of Fox, Tooter Owens of Ratliff City, Glenda Knipe and husband Jamie, and Velda Perdue and husband Johnny, both of Healdton; 24 Grandchildren; 49 Great Grandchildren and 22 Great Great Grandchildren; Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Grandsons, Matthew Belvin, Luke Belvin, Wayne Tow, Jimmy Tow, Shane Martin, Chris Knipe, Michael Perdue and Keith Smith.

Honorary Bearers are Great Grandsons.
