Edith Marie Vernon

Graveside Services for Mrs. Edith Marie (Cain) Vernon, 97, of Rogers Arkansas are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, Oklahoma with Dr. Virgil Trout officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Edith was born February 26,1916 to Mr. William Marion Cain and Mrs. Alice Rose (Pickens) Cain at Wilson, Oklahoma. She passed from this life Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Rogers, Arkansas.

Edith was raised in Wilson and attended school there. She lived most of her life in Wilson moving to Houston , Texas for a short time until she married Mr. Lonnie Vernon on September 13, 1952. They moved to North Zulch , Texas where they lived until Lonnie passed away in 1971. Edith moved back to Wilson to take care of her mother and later took care of her sister, Lillie Branson and her brother , Bud Cain until they were admitted into the nursing home .She loved caring for her family and going to church. Edith was a very loving mother and her priority was her family. Edith moved to Rogers, Arkansas in 2003 to be with her daughter where she lived out the remainder of her life.

Preceding her in death are her Parents, William Marion Cain and Alice Rose Cain ; Brothers, Elzie Lee Cain, Bud Cain and Jack Cain; Sisters, Thelma Mullins, Lillie Branson and Dovie Fowler.

Survivors include Two Daughters, Valetta Joyce Willingham and husband Wyndle Willingham of Lake Jackson, Texas , Vanetta Carol McIntosh and husband Ford McIntosh of Rogers, Arkansas; Grandchildren , Terri Marie Bumgarden , Dana Force, Chris Willingham, Kris Austin and Gina G. Bullard; 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild; Numerous other Family and Friends.
