Emet Phillips

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. Emet Phillips, 82, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, June 22, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Phillips Family Cemetery north of Ringling.

Emet was born Nov. 24, 1932 at Loco to the late Mr. Alford Lee Phillips and Mrs. Carrie (Padgett) Phillips. He departed this life Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Ringling.

Emet was raised primarily north of Ringling living some at Orr. He worked in the Oilfield all of his working years and also enjoyed farming and ranching. He married the former Ms. Ruby Apala on September 20, 1960 at Gainesville, TX. They shared 54 years of marriage together residing in Ringling.

Emet loved to work and stay busy. He was employed for the RM Lawrence Company and they later sold to Williford Energy , which Emet just retired from in 2010 as Foreman. He worked on some of the same leases for close to 50 years. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed hunting and fishing in younger days.

Preceding him in death were his Parents; brothers, Bill and Lee “Slim” Phillips, Odell Carroll and Jack Carroll; sisters, Johnnie Mattocks and Margaret Carroll; and nephews, Danny and Todd Phillips, and Jimmy and Bud Walker.

Survivors include his wife Ruby of the home; daughter, Jennifer Stoker and husband Jimmy of Ringling; grandchildren, Phillip Wade, Lexi Wade and Kaedon Wade; Sister, Kathy Needham and husband Ralph of Fox; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Phillip Wade, Ty Phillips, Randall McGuire, Terry Phillips, Jon Walker and Steve Carroll.

Honorary Bearers are Jason Bivings, Spencer McGuire, Sterling McGuire, Matthew Phillips, Mitchell Phillips, Tim Carroll, Bud Carroll and Odell Carroll.

Family visitation will be held Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 5pm to 7 pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
