Eula Mae Grant

Petersburg- Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Eula Mae (Huff) Grant, 99 longtime resident of Petersburg, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday April 20, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Rev. Ronnie Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling.

Mrs. Eula Mae (Huff) Grant was born May 29, 1913 at Terral, OK to the late Mr. George Huff and Mrs. Susie (White) Huff.

Eula was raised at Terral and Texas until the age of 10 when her family crossed the Red River on a Ferry at Courtney Flatts where she remained the rest of her life. She married Mr. Hailey Grant August 4, 1929 at Cornish, OK. They spent all their life’s together living and raising their eight children at Petersburg. She always worked in the fields and was employed for many years at the Ringling and Marietta Pants factory. Hailey preceded her in death on February 24, 1994 after 64 years of marriage. Eula continued to reside at Petersburg until her health declined. She loved to garden always having a green thumb. Eula was saved at the age of 22 at a brush arbor near Petersburg and had attended the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ of Ringling since and God called her home early Thursday morning April 18, 2013 at the Wilson Nursing Center at Wilson, OK.

In addition to her husband Hailey, also preceding her in death is her Parents; Daughter, Glenda Vinson Nov. of 2011; Great Grandson Joshua Collett and Great Great Granddaughter Berkley Ball; Brothers, Roy, R.A., and J.D.; and Sisters, Nola and Julie.

Survivors include her Daughters, Marie Dewbre of Tishomingo, Nelda Grant of Ardmore, and Lana Ball of Fritch, TX; Four Sons, Harvey Grant and wife Retha, S.D. “Cotton” Grant and wife Jacqueline both of Courtney Flatts, Hack Grant and wife JoAnn, Darrell Grant and wife Linda, both of Lone Grove; Sister, Minnie of Bakersfield, CA; Brother, Kenneth “Buddy” Huff of Van Buren, Ark.; 24 Grandchildren, 52 Great Grandchildren and 34 Great Great Grandchildren; Many other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Greg Grant, Chris Grant, Todd Collett, Johnnie Grant, Kenny Dewbre, Kevin Grant, Dylan Ball, Alex Vinson and Bradly Grant.

Family visitation will be from 6- 8 PM Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
