Frankie O'Neal

September 7, 1958 — January 11, 2024

Velma - Funeral Services for Frankie Deon O'Neal are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Velma Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Glasgow officiating.  Interment will follow to Alma Cemetery.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Frankie was born on September 7, 1958 to Frank and Donna O'Neal in Duncan, OK.  He left this life on January 11, 2024 at his home in Sandy Beach on beautiful Lake Texoma in Kingston, OK after a brief battle with bile duct cancer.  He was 65 years old.

Frankie was raised in the Alma area.  He was the third son to Frank and Donna.  His oldest brother, Ricky, was born in 1953, middle brother, Justin was born in 1955.  He attended Velma-Alma School all his life and graduated in May of 1976.  He dated Renee' Williams throughout high school and the two were married on June 15, 1978 in Countyline, OK.  The couple were blessed with two sons.  Dustin O'Neal was born on January 29, 1981 and Austin O'Neal was born on June 30, 1983.  In 1987, Karen was added into their family.

During high school, Frankie attended Vo-Tech in Duncan studying air conditioning and heating, where he would ultimately take 2nd overall in the state competition.  Frankie worked for his dad pumping wells and doing farm work.  After graduation, he worked for his parents, and built his job into a successful business, O'Neal Contract Pumping Service.

On January 1, 1994, Frankie and Renee' purchased oil interest from his dad and started O'Neal Oil Company.  The couple owned and operated the company for many years.  In 2005, Frankie had quadruple heart bypass surgery.  In 2006, they sold much of their company and home in Alma and moved to their lake house on Lake Texoma.  O'Neal Oil Company continues to this day.

In high school, Renee' attended Countyline First Baptist Church.  During a revival at church, Renee' adopted a pew for a "pack the pew night."  Renee's parents, Alvin and Lillie Williams and her future husband Frankie attended.  Frankie was saved that night and was baptized into the church.  Renee's parents would join the church and become lifetime members of Countyline Baptist Church.

Frankie was a devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather.  He was a homebody, and he was happy while piddling in his shop working on various projects.  He was always thinking of a way to make something easier or better.  He had a brilliant mind and could repair almost everything.  He had both knowledge and tools to complete any tasks that presented itself.  He was always willing to help any friends and neighbor in need and was never more than a phone call or a golf cart ride away.  Frankie could fix just about anything.  His greatest talent was sharing that ability and helping others.  He was the Sandy Beach's "go to" man.  Besides working with his tractor, fixing things and doing all of Renee's projects, he delighted in his beautiful granddaughters, Allie and Addison O'Neal.  He attended many dance recitals and competitions, but the thing that he enjoyed most was just playing with them and spending time with them.  Renee would do the cooking for the girls and Frankie's dinner would consist of whatever Addie didn't eat!! Over the Thanksgiving holiday, he was teaching them to play "Mexican Train" dominoes!

Frankie is preceded in death by his parents, father Frank O’Neal, mother and stepfather, Donna and Jim Hamrick, brothers, Ricky O’Neal and Justin O’Neal; uncle, Jack O’Neal; and a brother-in-law Bob Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Renee’ O’Neal; his two sons, Dustin O’Neal and Austin O’Neal and wife Sarah; granddaughters, Allie and Addison O’Neal; daughter, Karen Landram and her sons, Brandon and Tyler Nalley and her grandson, Jenson; nephews, Ricky O’Neal and wife Cammie and their children, Jaelyn O’Neal, Landon O’Neal and Bentley Craft; Derek O’Neal and wife Bonnie and their son, Sterling; niece, Danielle O'Neal; stepmother, Marie O'Neal; sister in law, Vicki Harper and her children, Tiffany Lopez and Logan Boon; niece and nephews, Megan Nesselroade, Aaron Williams, and Nick Williams; and by a host of other family and friends.
