Freddie Joe Boswell

Wilson - Services for Freddie Joe Boswell, 82, Ardmore, Oklahoma are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson, Oklahoma with Chad Barron officiating. Burial will follow at Dixie Cemetery in Ringling.


 Joe passed away on January 5, 2024, at home. He was born September 18, 1941, in Agawam, Oklahoma to William Trammel and Mary Cleo (Williams) Boswell. 


 Growing up in Agawam,  Joe enjoyed playing basketball. After graduating from Ninnekah High School, Joe married Becky Mask on December 24, 1960 and went to work for 19th Seed Company following road construction work in Oklahoma and Arkansas for many years. They were blessed with two children Jeff and Rhonda. He then moved to Wilson where he married Virginia "Jean" Sullivan Weatherford on September 20, 1985 and opened Joe Sunoco "DX" auto station. He later went to work for Lynn Lowery as a dozer operator until he retired. 


Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean, brother, Johnny, sister, Joyce Fern Janke, stepdaughter, LaDonna Goates and great grandson Tate Hanson Brooks. 


Joe is survived by brother, Buford and wife Krin, Rush Springs, sister, Lawana Jackson of Agawam, son, Jeffrey Lynn Boswell and wife Teresa, Oklahoma City, daughter, Rhonda Jo Young and husband Lloyd, Norman and stepsons Les Weatherford and wife Susan, Oklahoma City, Dusty Weatherford and wife, Michele, Ardmore and Scott Weatherford and wife, Tommi, Ardmore. Joe had 14 grandchildren, Mindy, Nickolas, Ashton, Cody, Jesse, Joseph Louis, Leslie, Sunnie, Dusty, Charli, Samantha, Kati and Jourdan. He was also blessed with 22 great grandchildren. 


 Pallbearers will be grandsons Nathanial Dorsey, Dusty Weatherford, Cody Goates, Jesse Goates, Joseph Goates and Nickolas Boswell.
