George Alexander Chamberlain, Jr.

October 5, 1947 — May 19, 2008

George was born October 5, 1947 in Seligman, Missouri to Mr. George Alexander, Sr. and June Madeline Andrews Chamberlain. He passed away Monday May 19, 2008 at Ardmore, Oklahoma.


George was raised in New Providence, Iowa attending school at Union Whitten Schools. He married the former Carolyn McGauhy Fondren June 7, 1986 at the Country Tabernacle Church in Lone Grove, OK. George was employed as a Janitor for the JBS Group cleaning the Neustadt Building and DHS Building for 10 years. He also worked part-time mowing yards at Wilson and Lone Grove. As a hobby, George enjoyed looking at old farm tractors and farm machinery and loved to watch the food channel on television. George was a member of the Country Tabernacle Church in Lone Grove and had been the Sunday School Superintendent for the past 5 years.


He is preceded in death by his Mother, Mrs. June Chamberlain, and July 10, 2002.


Survivors include his Wife Carolyn of the home, 2 Daughters, Amy Norton and husband Jeremy of Wilson, and Julie Chamberlain of Shawnee. 1 Stepdaughter, Carrie Reynolds and husband Bill of Healdton, and 1 Stepson Kent Fondren of Wilson. Father George Alexander Chamberlain, Sr. of Hubbard, Iowa. 2 Sisters, Collette Lindeman and husband Tony of Keokuk, Iowa, and Kim McDowall and husband Gary of Auburn Hills, Michigan. 1 Brother, James Chamberlain and wife Christine of North Carolina. 1 Granddaughter Cassie Reynolds of Healdton and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Darren Howard, Gaylon Taylor, Kirk Woods, Jerry Meek, Gary Holt, and George Taylor.


Honorary Bearers will be son in laws, Jeremy Norton and Bill Reynolds Also serving will be James Layton and John Norton.
