Gerald Dean Martin

Graham - Graveside Services for Mr. Gerald Dean Martin, 86 are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Graham Cemetery with his son, Paul Dean Martin and Daughter, Susan King officiating.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton. 

Gerald was born March 27, 1936 in Walters, OK to the late Mr. Guy Luther Martin and Mrs. Cleo S. (Carson) Martin.  He departed from this life on Friday, December 2, 2022 in Ardmore.  

Gerald was raised primarily at the Phillips Camp between Graham and Clemscott.  He graduated as a Graham Bearcat in 1955.  Gerald married the former Ms. Opal Mae Lashley on December 7, 1957 at Ardmore. Initially their home was following oil rigs, but made Graham their permanent home in 1967.  He continued to work on the oil rigs  as the derrick hand and then as the motor man. Gerald began his oilfield career  with Nichols Drilling and lastly with L.E. Jones until he retired.  Opal preceded him in death in 2005.  Gerald had served many years as the caretaker for Graham Cemetery and since has passed this to his son, Paul Dean.  He loved to bird hunt, squirrel hunt and enjoyed fishing.  

In addition to his wife, also preceding him in death were his parents; grandson, Logan Bullock in 2011 and a brother, Paul Ray Martin. 

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Susan King and husband Ron of Ardmore; son, Paul Dean Martin and wife Jeannie of Graham; sister, Patsy Rozzell of Graham; brother, Raymond Dale Martin of San Marcos, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Moody and husband Jeff, Jordy Martin and wife Danah, Jacob Martin and wife Sadie, and James Martin and wife Amanda; great grandchildren, Boston, Bennett, Asher, London, Knox, Cameron, Indi, Lemmi, and Van; numerous nephews and nieces; and a host of other family and friends. 

Casket bearers will Jordy Martin, Jacob Martin, Ron King, James Martin, Danny Paul Martin, Dillon Martin, and Boston Hatfield. 

Honorary bearers will be Raymond Dale Martin, Doug Rozzell, Terral Stephenson, and Dub Bohannon. 

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
