Wilson - Harry Dewayne Burke, 81 of Wilson was born on August 18, 1938 in Elco, IL to the late Williams Edgar Burke and Mrs. Fredia Marie (Tindall) Burke. He departed from this life on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in Healdton.

Harry was raised in Chicago, IL attended school until the age of 13. Soon after, Harry started driving a truck with his brother to help support his family and take care of his mother. In 1955, he joined the United States Army serving honorably till 1959. Harry worked for several different trucking companies throughout the years. On October 5, 1976, Harry married Mrs. Patricia Marie Hefner in Wichita, KS and soon after moved to Wilson where Harry worked for Grondike Transport in Ardmore. Lastly, he worked for J.B. Hunt Transportation where he retired in the early 2000's. Harry enjoyed reading and he loved Horses. But most of all, he loved his family. At one point, Harry and Pat had 27 adopted kids in their home where they always had an open door policy. He never let you go without letting you know that he loved you.

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Jodie O'Daniel; grandson, Christopher and 10 siblings.

Harry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat of the home; sons, Mark Simmons of Wilson, Michael Simmons and wife Michelle of Michigan; Jason Simmons and wife Angela of Wilson, Nito Gemmell of Amarillo, TX, and daughter, Tricia Gemmell of Ardmore; 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; long time friend, Maxine Morris and family; and by a host of other family and friends.

No services are scheduled for Harry, for his wishes were to be donated to science.
