Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Jackie "Jack" Calvin Grace, 83, of Ringling are scheduled for 11:00AM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Pastor John Marks officiating. Interment will follow at the Waurika Cemetery of Waurika. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Jack was born July 15, 1931 at Los Angeles, CA. He was the son of the late Mr. Sam Byron Grace and Mrs. Hazel Calvin (Beaver) Grace. Jack passed peacefully at his home in Ringling on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.

He was raised at Ringling attending school there. Shortly after graduation from High School Jack joined the United States Navy. He served from March 15, 1952 to February 13, 1956. He served in Norman, Corpus Christi, TX, Miramar, CA, Astugi, Japan and aboard the CVA 19 USS Hancock in the Western Pacific. He had many memorable experiences, but his most memorable was the last trip back to the United States.

Jack married the former Ms. Norma "June" Davis on June 23, 1956 at Wilson. Jackie began a career with Ford working in the following dealerships: Mike Turner Ford, Ringling, parts manager and vehicle salesman; Clem Smalley Ford, Muskogee, service manager, car rac; Howard Smith Ford, Lawton, parts, services, body shop and tire store; Cornish Ford, Healdton, parts department; and Clinton Herring Lincoln-Mercury, Lawton dealerships, parts, service coordinator, customer relations. He attended 173 service schools during the dealership years – at that time he held the #1 record.


Jackie won five dirt Track Championships – the cars were dealer and private owned and prepped by Jackie. Three dirt track cars won five championships. In Drag Racing with his Super Stock Mustang 2nd NHRA Div 5, he qualified three straight years for World Finals in 1969, 1970 and 1971, and won two National meets.


Jackie was elected to the Ringling Town Board of Trustees in April, 2004. In July, 2007, he was appointed by the trustees to fill the position of mayor for the unexpired term when Jerry Reid resigned. In 2009, he was elected by the voters for another term.


June preceded him in death on September 11, 2006. Since Jack enjoyed being in the community lending a helping hand where he was able.He was always a huge fan of the Ringling Blue Devil Football team.


Also preceding him in death are his Parents, Mr. Sam Byron Grace and Mrs. Hazel (Beaver) Grace.

Survivors include his son Gary Don Grace of Watonga; Special friend Joe Joiner, Sr. of Lawton and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Mike Moore, Mike Brooks, Biff Jackson, Don Pogue and other men of the Methodist Church.

Honorary Bearers are Clem Smalley, Willie Keifer, Joe Joiner, Sr., Clinton Herring, Marlan Vance and Bruce Price.


Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling
