Ringling - Memorial Services for Mr. Jerry Lee Mears, 79 of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 29, 2024, at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling with John Morrow officiating.  


Jerry was born March 1, 1945 in Brownsville, TX to the late Mr. William Floyd Mears and Mrs. Addie Irene (Barbour) Mears.  He departed from this life Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home in Ringling, OK.  


Jerry was raised primarily in Dundee and Healdton, attending school at Dundee.  After his school years, he went to work for Independent Tank Co. before establishing a career on drilling and workover rigs.  Jerry married Phyllis Morrow on May 17, 1963 at Wichita Falls, TX at the First United Methodist Church.  They resided in Healdton and thereafter several places before moving north of Ringling on Countyline Road.  Jerry worked for Sutherland Well Service as a pusher and several other jobs most recently as bus driver for Ringling Public Schools. He was of the Catholic Faith, attending mass at Duncan and loved hunting, fishing, and raising dogs. 


Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Judy Glenn; daughter, Leah Williams; 2 sons in law, Jesse Acosta and Joe Williams. 


Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Mears; daughter, Jeria Acosta; sister, Joy Henderson and husband Jack; brother in law, Johnny Morrow, sister in law, Susie Morrow;  grandchildren, Stormy Acosta and husband William Leasure, Hailey Bethea and husband Justin, Tristen Acosta and wife Candice, Jayden Acosta and wife Jaycie, Cody Gordon, Jennifer Eubanks, Kirk Gordon and wife Amber, and Joelee Williams and wife Ariane; great grandchildren, Jake and Jacee Gordon, Chevy and Emerie Eubanks, Elana and Bonnie Gordon, Oliver, Leo and Freya Leasure, Jessie Bethea, and those on the way; niece, Madison Morrow, nephews, John and Caleb Morrow, nieces, Laura Courtwright and Sarah Caldwell; nephews, Sam and William Glenn; and by a host of other family and friends. 


Honorary Bearers will be all grandchildren.
