Ringling- Funeral Services for Mrs. Jerry Louise (Collins) Turner, 76, of Ringling are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Church of God in Divine Order of Ringling with Rev. Ellen Abshire and Rev. Virgil Ridenour officiating. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.


Jerry Louise (Collins) Turner was born April 1, 1937 at Freer, Texas to Mr. Alzma Jerry Collins and Mrs. Louise Elizabeth (Jones) Collins. She passed from this life Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Waurika, Oklahoma.


Jerry was raised outside Pampa, Texas attending school there. As a young girl she lived on an oil lease residing in a camp. Jerry graduated from Pampa High School in 1955. She made her home in Pampa, Texas being blessed with three children, Dora, Angie and Melinda. Later in life Jerry married Marvin Turner in 1967 at Pampa, Texas. Together they were blessed with three children, Sheri, Shawn and Mary Ann. Marvin Preceded Jerry in death on April 7, 1981. She moved to Comanche, OK. six years later and then to Ringling where she was currently residing. Jerry worked outside the home as a CNA in nursing homes and was employed last for Meridian Nursing Home. She always loved reading, watching soap operas and westerns, crocheting and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.


In addition to her husband, Marvin Turner she is preceded in death by her Parents, Alzma and Louise Collins; Son, Shawn Turner; Brother, Jack Collins; Grandson, Eddie Lee Bates and Great Grandson, Bryan Bybee.


Survivors include her Daughters, Dora Taylor and husband Farrow of Healdton, OK., Angie Staton and Jerry of Mclean, TX., Melinda Daniels and husband James of Alanreed, TX., Sheri Tice and husband Randell of Pampa, TX. and Mary Ann Elliott and husband James of Ringling, OK.; Sister, Joye Jones and husband Hank of Dallas, TX.; 13 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren and numerous other Family and Friends.


Casket Bearers are Randell Tice, Farrow Taylor, James Elliott, James Daniels, JR Collins and Hank Jones.


Honorary Bearers are her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.


Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
