Jesse Canales

Rubottom – Graveside Services for Mr. Jesse Canales, 60, of Courtney are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Rubottom Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Jesse was born Dec. 28, 1954 at Waukegan, IL to the late Mr. Eusebio Lara Canales, Jr. and Liedia (Pena) Caneles. He departed this life Thursday evening at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore.

Jesse moved to Courtney from Illinois in 1968. He then attended school at Turner. Initially he worked in road construction for several years and later became a mechanic. Jesse always had a great sense of humor and enjoyed living at Courtney where he loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and was a past member of the Rubottom Baptist Church where he was baptized.

Preceding him death were his Parents, mother of his son, Thelma McKinnley; and numerous aunts and uncles .

Survivors include his son Jerrold Canales of Ardmore; siblings, Juan Canales of Lexington, Dora Sellers of Marietta, Benito Canales and wife Pam of Jasper, TN, Maria Canales of Marietta , Marcos Canales, Jr. of Ardmore and Felicia Willingham of Marietta; cousin who was like a brother Toby Pena, II and wife Carole of Noble; numerous Aunts, Uncles and other family.

Honorary bearers are Juan Marcos Canales, Michael Canales, Benjamin Canales Jason Canales, Matthew Balch, Josef Ethan Cartwright and Eric Willingham.
