Jessie Faye Tivis

July 4, 1914 — March 2, 2014

Ratliff City - Home going Services for lifelong resident of Ratliff City, Mrs. Jessie Faye (Morris) Tivis, 99, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday March 6, 2014 at the Pernell Church of Christ with David Frost and Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery in Duncan. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.


Jessie was born July 4, 1914 at Ratliff City to the late Mr. Oscar and Mrs. Betty (Hudson) Morris. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home in Ratliff City.


Jessie was a lifelong resident of Ratliff City. She attended school at Red Top and worked some in Cafes as a cook. She and Mr. Alva Gordon "Trig" Tivis were united in marriage on June 18, 1936 at Ratliff City. They continued to reside in this area raising their children. Jessie was a very hard worker and devout homemaker. She went beyond caring for her children s welfare and needs. Every Sunday Jessie still provided dinner for all her family and enjoyed cooking for them. The only time she wasn't able to cook Sunday dinner for them all was the few times she was a patient in the hospital. Jessie was a member of the Pernell Church of Christ.


Preceding her in death were her Parents; Son - Preston Tivis in 1959; Husband, Trig - Nov. 26, 1976; Brother, Roy Morris; Sisters, Floy Shoemaker, Irene Tivis-McKee and Mildred Shaw.


Survivors inlcude her Children; Nancy Hammond and spouse Slim Clagg, Barbara Tivis, Kenneth Tivis, Dale Tivis and wife Linda and Darrel Tivis, all of Ratliff City; Grandchildren, Rodney Hammond, Leisa Freeman, Cary Dale Tivis and wife Sonja and Shelly Johnston and husband Mike; Great Grandkids, Rayce Hammond and wife Sara, Randon Hammond, Keelan Hammond, Lee Freeman and wife Taylor, Logan Freeman, Macy Freeman and husband Randall, Tanya Stark and husband John, Shytana Bray and husband Steven, Hillary Tivis, Chad Jones and wife Allyson, and Rusty Jones and wife Dani; Great Great Grandchildren, Smith Hammond, Sloane Hammond, Tucker Freeman, Tristen Freeman, Braden Stark, Brecken Stark and Jase Jones; Special nieces Elizabeth Shebester, Judy Sullivan, Janet Sullivan and Betty Petty. Numerous other nieces and nephews and other family.


Casket Bearers are Rayce Hammond, Randon Hammond, Keelan Hammond, Lee Freeman, Logan Freeman and Randall McDaniel.


Honorary Bearers are John Stark, Steven Bray, Cary Tivis, Rodney Hammond, Chris Tivis, Jeff Tivis and Stevie Cogswell.


Family visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wed. evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
