Dixie - Graveside services for Mr. Jimmy “Jim” Monroe Griffith, 76, formerly of Loco are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 at Dixie Cemetery with Bro. Jim Grounds officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM, prior to service at Alexander Gray funeral home of Ringling.


 Jimmy (Jim) Monroe Griffith was born on October 31, 1946 in Ardmore, Okla. to Benjamin Franklin Griffith and Gertrude (Haston) Griffith. He departed this life Tuesday Oct. 18, 2023 at Broken Arrow.


Jim attended school at Fox, Okla and Methodist Church in Loco, OK. He was married to Gladys Pauline Perry on October 14, 1968. They made their home in the Stephens County area. Jim worked in the oilfield. Jim loved his family, friends, and animals. He loved telling stories, hunting, fishing, and raising a garden. Jim loved his granddaughters so very much and enjoyed seeing them visit him at Aspen Nursing home in Broken Arrow. Jim was a great storyteller and could remember so many stories of growing up in Loco and a lot of Griffith family stories. Jim loved to cut and spilt wood. Some used to call him Jimmy the woodpicker! Growing up in Loco some knew him as Grasshopper. Some family and friends also call him Jimbo. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Corene Griffith and brothers James Griffith, Harold Griffith, and Elmer Griffith.


He is survived by his wife Gladys Griffith of Ryan, Okla., his children Martha Ann Lindley and husband Thomas of Broken Arrow and Mark Wayne Griffith of Ryan, OK.; grandchildren Elizabeth Diane Lindley, Annabelle Pauline Rose Lindley and Tommy Lindley, brothers Jerry Griffith & wife Kathy Griffith of Okla. City, OK and Robert Griffith & wife Linda of Elk City and several cousins, nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Charles Griffith, Keith Griffith, Kevin Griffith, Michael Griffith, David Perry and Thomas Lindley.
