Joe Edward Cunningham

Simon – Graveside Services for Mr. Joe Edward Cunningham, 73 of Enos, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Simon Cemetery south of Wilson with Pastor Ronny White officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Ed was born January 1, 1940 at Healdton to his mother Ms. Winnie Ruth (Haws) Cunningham. He departed this life Saturday April 27, 2013 at Plano, TX.

Ed was raised in the Fox area attending school there and later at Wilson. He married the former Ms. Carla Lynn Hodges October 16, 1962 at Ardmore. They remained as residents of Wilson where Ed worked in the Oilfield lastly employed by Kaiser Francis. In 1980 they moved to Enos where he continued to work in the Oilfield as a contract pumper for many years. Ed enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. He also enjoyed grilling and was a past member of the Hewitt Masonic Lodge.

Those who preceded him in death were his Mother, Winnie Ruth (Haws) Cunningham; Brother, Doug Cunningham; Nephew, Shane Cunningham and Aunt Voncille Brown.

Survivors include his loving wife Carla of the home in Enos; Sons, Ron Dean Cunningham and wife Elizabeth of Forney, TX and Ben Cunningham of Indianola, MS; 2 Grandchildren, Hillary and Brock; Sisters, Evelyn “Lean” Morse of Fox, JoAnn Gage of Ardmore, and Pearlie Buss of Hobbs, NM; Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Brock Cunningham, David Morse, Danny “Crock” Morse, Mike Sudderth, Charlie Hodges, and Delane Williams.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Simon Cemetery Fund 497 Midway Rd. Wilson, OK 73463

Family visitation will be held from 6-pm to 8pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
