John Harvey Whitener

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. John Harvey “Johnny” Whitener, 87, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Bro. Virgil Ridenour officiating. Interment will follow at the Orr Cemetery south of Ringling.

Johnny was born August 8, 1926 at Orr to the late Mr. Martin D. Whitener and Mrs. Jennie (Clark) Whitener. He departed this life Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his home in Ringling.

Johnny was raised at Orr and Eastern Oklahoma. He married the former Ms. Cleta Jo Lamascus in 1967 and they resided most of their lives together in the Ringling and Loco area. Johnny worked in the Oilfield as a roustabout mostly for Richard Hatfield. He always enjoyed being on the go. He loved to travel and enjoyed driving his cars.

Preceding him in death are his Parents; 1st wife Dora Whitener; Wife Cleta Jo- December 28, 1994; Daughter, Murielene McCain – July 4, 1981; Brother, Tommy Whitener and 2 Sisters, Rosie Locke and Alice Whitener.

Survivors include his Daughters, Leta Jo Thompson and husband Gary of Ringling, Audrey Elaine Turner and husband Kenneth of Ardmore, Pamela Renee Turner and husband John of Lone Gove and Carolyn Ann Ballard and husband Ernie of Chicopee, Mass.; Son, Billy James Whitener and wife Lisa of Ratliff City; Sister, Ruby Cross of Loco; 14 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Eric Turner, Billy Turner, Billy White, Kenneth McCain, Carl Gilbreath and Clint Smith.

Honorary Bearers will be Brian Mealman, Brandon Isom and Kyle Teafatiller.

Family visitation will be from 6pm to 8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
