Johnny Robert Richardson

Mr. Johnny Robert Richardson, age 77, of Wilson, departed this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his residence in Wilson. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Zane Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Johnny was born on May 7, 1942 in Coolidge, Arizona to the late Mr. Robert Richardson and Mrs. Flo (Pierce) Richardson.

Johnny attended and graduated from Fox High School in 1960. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. He married Dee (Airington) Richardson on December 16, 1971 and together they made their home in Wilson. He had worked for Sutherland Oilfield Service in many different positions, most recent was as a tool pusher. Johnny always enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.

Mr. Richardson is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Richardson; step children, James Taylor and Pam Kay.

He is survived by his wife Dee Richardson of the home; son, Johnny Richardson and wife Dana of Wilson; grandchildren, Tre, Landon, and Delaney Richardson of Wilson, Sandra McSwain and Chad Kay of Shelby, NC; brother, Jerry Richardson of Wilson; sisters, Marjorie Remington of Ardmore, Marilyn Gaines of Lone Grove, Marlene Knight and husband Richard of Yukon; three great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Richardson, Tom Whitener, Darrell Smith, Danny Bray, and Leonard DeShazo.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Delaney Richardson, Tre Richardson, Landon Richardson, Sandra McSwain, and Chad Kay.

Family visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
