Karen Kay Higgins

Wilson – Funeral Services for Karen Kay (Hunt ) Higgins, 59 , are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 11, 2013 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Chopper McCarley officiating. Her ashes will be scattered at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson at a later date. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory.

Karen was born January 16, 1954 at Hutchinson, KS to the late Mr. Billy Bob Hunt and Mrs. Claudia Nadine (Hall) Hunt. She departed this life Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home in Sulphur.

Karen was raised at Willits, CA and later moved to Maize, KS where she graduated from High School in 1972. She soon became a housewife and a mother raising her two sons. She enjoyed refurbishing old antique furniture and loved hummingbirds and gardening. Karen was currently a resident of Sulphur where she had resided the last 5 years. She currently was a member of the Midway Baptist Church of Davis where she attended when able.

Preceding her in death is her Parents, Nadine (Hall) Hunt)- July 3, 2007, and Billy Bob Hunt – February 14, 2008.

Survivors include her Two Sons, Shawn Garner and wife Shannon and Shane Garner, all of Wichita, KS; Granddaughter, Kendall Garner ; Sister Dee Mackey and husband Randy of Sulphur; Brother, Bill D. Hunt, Sr. and wife Reta of Lone Grove; Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
