Karlan Dale Barnes

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Karlan Dale Barnes, 60, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday Nov. 19. 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Karlan was born on March 7, 1961 at Ringling to the late Mr. Kenneth Dale and Mrs. Mary Sue (Mays) Barnes. He departed this life on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 at a healthcare facility in Oklahoma City.

Karlan was a true mud creeker being born in Ringling and residing here his whole life. He graduated from Ringling High School in 1979 and immediately began a lifelong career in the oilfield. Karlan loved the oilfield and was an accomplished driller. He married the former Shay Shelby on July 29, 1987 at Gainesville, TX. They enjoyed residing at Ringling and was blessed with three girls. Karlan always loved working with his hands, most especially when he would mechanic on cars and hot rods. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and was always a devoted Christian.

Preceding him in death was his father, Kenneth; Sister, Nelda Jean Barnes and his mother, Sue Barnes.

Survivors include his wife Shay of the home; daughters, Sasha Barnes of Waurika, Cheyenne Barnes of Ardmore and Ciara Barnes of Ringling; grandchildren, Brady Martin, Dasia Bracken, Eden Bracken, Kenneth Barnes, Kenlyn Camp and George Barnes; brothers, Ernie Marshall and wife Janice, Wilbie Barnes, both of Ringling and Billy Bob Barnes and wife Sara of Lebanon; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Joby Barnes, Cody Barnes, Lee Doss, Joe Lester, Dewyatt Cox and Alen Doss.

Honorary bearers will be Ernie Marshall, Wilbe Barnes, Billy Bob Barnes, Jimmy Don Sanner, Charlie Lyle, Kirby Pemberton, Hank Lambert, Joey Roberts and Kevin Edwards.

Family visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.
