Leroy Kenneth Carlson

Mr. Leroy Kenneth Carlson, of Ardmore, departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 11 days. Graveside inurnment services with Military Honors are scheduled for 10 A.M. Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the McAlister Cemetery in Overbrook with Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Leroy was born on March 28, 1945 in Media, IL to the late Mr. Clarence Carlson and Mrs. Ruby F. (Lease) Carlson.

He grew up in Media, IL and attended school there until graduating. Leroy then joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Ms. Sharon Back in 1966 in Borger, TX. He was a truck driver for many years and worked for MBM transportation. Leroy enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and was always a avid reader. He was of the Baptist Faith and at one time attended the Mannsville Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Carlson; and a sister, Cora Johnson.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home in Ardmore; sons, Wesley Ray Carlson of Oklahoma City, Richard Aaron Carlson of Ardmore; brother, John Carlson; sisters, Alice Larson, Vivian Howard, Kathy Carlson, Sue Young, Lillian Clifford, and Debbie Huntzinger; grandchildren, Brandon Carlson, Carmen Carlson, Richard Carlson Jr; many other relatives and a host of friends.
