Le Roy Daniel Hurley

July 15, 1925 — April 25, 2008

Wilson ~ Graveside Services are scheduled for Mr. Le Roy Daniel Hurley, 82, at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 29, 2008 at Bomar Point Cemetery with Rev. Betty Bartlett officiating. Naval Military honors will also be conducted as part of the ceremony under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.


Le Roy was born July 15, 1925 at Wilson, to the late L.E. “Shorty” and Vivian E. Wendling Hurley. He departed this life Friday Evening April 25, 2008 at Ardmore, OK.


Le Roy was raised in Wilson attending Wilson Schools and graduating from there. He worked as a young man at his Fathers business, “Hurley’s Dry Cleaners” in Wilson before he joined the United States Navy on January 21, 1944. He furthered his education in the Navy, attending service school for electrical work at the University of Minnesota. He was a fireman first class serving during WWII and was honorably discharged on April 20, 1946 at Norman with several medals and commendations. He then began employment with Santa Fe Railroad Company, retiring from there after several years of Employment. Le Roy had most recently moved back to this area living in Wilson.


Preceding him in death is his Parents and his Wife Sue.


Survivors include his 4 Sisters, Betty Bartlett and husband Joe of Wilson, Bonnie Baker of Wilson, Joyce Hurley of Wilson and Bobbye Elaine Bracken and her husband A.D. of Waco, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
