Leo V. Taylor

March 24, 1940 — February 10, 2014

Ringling- Home going Services for Mr. Leo V. Taylor, 73, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Church of God In Divine Order of Ringling with Sister Ellen Abshire and Bro. Virgil Ridenour officiating. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Leo was born March 24, 1940 at Winston County, Alabama to the late Mr. Dewey M. Taylor and Mrs. Myrtle L. (Benson) Taylor. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2014 at his home in Ringling.

Leo was raised at Alabama and Tennessee, leaving home at age of 16. He was always very adventurous and on the go. He travelled to California and met and soon married the mother of his children, Mary Jordan. To this union came two beautiful daughters, Cathy and Joy, whom Leo adored and loved. While residing at California, Leo worked as a gas station attendant and farmed.

Leo travelled extensively, playing music with his family. They played music and worked as migrant workers during harvest times. In December of 1970, Leo was saved and soon began serving the Lord as a pastor at several churches and lastly served at a church at Sand Springs.

Leo and the former Ms. Reba Nell Mooney was married on July 3, 1984 at Wichita Falls, TX. Leo drove trucks cross country for awhile and also worked mainly as a carpenter contractor building Jim Walters Homes in this area. He also liked to tinker with Lawnmowers and always loved music.He was the President of the Church in Divine Order and held the title of Apostle.

Preceding him in death were his Parents; Siblings, Elsie Johnson, Herbert Taylor, Virgie Miller, Ellis Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Zumma Butcher and Lestie Lonon; 2 other infant siblings, and a son in law Billy Pugh.

Survivors include his wife Reba Nell of the home; Daughters, Cathy Segroves and husband Richard, and Joy Austin and Ray Howell all of Wilson; other children, Rita Stephens and husband Jimmy of Sapulpa, Lisa Ballard and husband Tony of Ringling; Sisters, Linda Ridenour and husband Virgil and Ellen Abshire and husband Clarence all of Ringling; Brother, Farrow Taylor and wife Dora of Healdton; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Ty Segroves, Aaron Austin, Adam Segroves, Steven Ballard, Jimmy Taylor, and Joe Abshire.

Honorary Bearers are Albert Austin, Dakota Pugh, “Little Leo”, Harold Ridenour, Randy Ridenour, and Tony Ballard.

Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Wed. evening at the Ringling Funeral Home.
