Loyd Monroe Jackson

June 12, 1919 — October 16, 2014

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. Loyd Monroe Jackson, 95 of Bar J Ranch in Grady, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with military honors performed by the Fort Sill Casualty Team. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Loyd was born at Spanish Fort, TX on June 12, 1919 to the late Mr. Charles B. Jackson and Mrs. Elizabeth Clementine “Clemmie” (Bouldin) Jackson. He departed this life Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Ardmore VA Center.

Loyd’s mother passed away when he was at the age of two years old and he and Father soon moved to Oklahoma City. There Loyd attended school and told of stories of “holding the tails of the cows while they were being milked” at a local dairy. He also helped his Dad bale hay for local farms.They moved back to ranch when he was 13 and Loyd began a lifelong career as a Farmer and Rancher on the Bar J Ranch.

Loyd married the former Ms. Dorothy Jean Morris on September 1, 1940 at Ryan, OK. Shortly afterwards, he joined the United States Army on July 10, 1942. He served honorably as a combat infantryman during WWII and was released from active duty on January 9, 1945. He returned home and spent the rest of his years farming and ranching. He would also occasionally load up his combine and join the wheat harvest. Loyd enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending bluegrass festivals. Dorothy preceded him in death on April 11, 2011; Aslo preceding him in death were his Parents; Brothers, Lewis J. and Barry J. ; Sisters, Maedell Hill and Floice Schroeder and a grandson, Caleb Riley.

Survivors include his Daughters, Lana Wade and husband Charles of Ringling and Fran Riley and husband Dale of Courtney; 5 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Dale Riley, Charles Wade, Jimmy Wade, Dustin Riley, Shane Riley and Terry Dale Morris.

Honorary Bearers are Jory Wade, Tyler Wade, Leyton Riley, Jacob Riley, Jesse Lewis, Gage Riley, Jerrad Lewis, Corky Wade, Larry Snell, Otto Wade, and C.G. Burks.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Sunday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
