Lynda Gayle Tipps

Ringling- Services for Mrs. Lynda Gayle (Parker) Tipps, 68, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Bro. Nick Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Lynda was born July 27, 1945 to Mr. W.L. “Tuffy” Parker and Mrs. Magdoline “Salty”(Johnson) Parker at Ringling, Oklahoma. She passed from this life Friday morning, January 24, 2014 at Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Lynda was raised south of Ringling. She attended school at center point until the 6th grade and graduated from Ringling High School in 1963. Lynda married Mr. Bill Harold “Billy” Tipps August 3, 1963 at Ardmore, OK. They celebrated 50 years of marriage last August. She attended Aladdin Beauty College in Ardmore receiving her Cosmetology degree. Lynda began working at her mothers, “Salty’s “ Beauty Shop after she passed away March 8, 1975 and continued working there for the next 20 years along with selling Avon. She loved keeping her grandsons while they were growing up.She enjoyed the many trips to Colorado camping, fishing and watching hummingbirds and redbirds. She always put others first, never herself and will be dearly missed by all of her many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, “Tuffy” and “Salty”; Grandparents, Judge and Lillie; Granddaughter Brooke Shores.

Lynda is survived by her Husband, Bill Tipps of the home; Daughters, Stacy Shores and husband Mark of Wilson, Kristy Tipps of Ringling; Brother, Larry Parker of Ringling; Special Aunt, Carolyn Cooper of Burneyville; Special Cousin, Lana Longest of Ringling; Grandsons, Chase Shores and wife Shantel of Springer, Waylon Shores of Wilson, Zane Shores of Wilson; Great Grandchildren, Krayton and Kruz Shores of Springer; Special Friend, Donna Gore and husband Dale of Lone Grove. Several Special Cousins and other Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Mike Gandy, Jerry "Clint" Gandy, Mark Shores , Chase Shores, Waylon Shores, Bruce Mobley and Zane Shores.

Honorary Bearers are Terry Gandy, Billy Parker, Ronnie Harbour, Troy Huggins and Dale Gore.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
